Green electricity is electricity from renewable energy sources, such as wind or solar radiation. It is an energy whose production releases little or no CO2 into the atmosphere. It is therefore low pollution, preserves natural resources and represents a way to fight against global warming. With the Pulse Power this is true.

Where does it come from?

There are various sources of renewable energy, as well as different production methods for each. In the case of green electricity, the most common are solar, wind, hydro or biomass:

Solar energy is produced through the use of photovoltaic panels, which capture the sun’s rays and transform them into energy. They can be installed in large fields dedicated to this use, on a roof or in a garden: thanks to them, to produce its solar electricity is now possible.

Wind turbines, installed on land or at sea, use the force of the wind to operate an alternator producing electricity. Hydraulic energy works on the same principle as wind turbines, but by using the force of water. Hydroelectric dams feed their turbines with the water falling. Biomass recovers the energy produced by the combustion or transformation of organic matter, wood, landfill gas and sewage treatment plants. It is green electricity widely used in our country.

What is the Guarantee of Origin?

Whatever its source, electricity is compulsorily injected into the same power grid. A Guarantee of Origin can however guarantee you, as its name suggests, the origin of the electricity. Issued by an independent body, the Guarantee of Origin is an official certificate attesting the origin of green electricity: it allows its traceability and a total transparency.

In short, it certifies compliance with suppliers’ commitments, by certifying that a quantity of electricity from renewable energies equivalent to your consumption has been injected into the network.

Can we produce our own green electricity?

Yes it’s possible. There are also solutions to produce its own electricity, increasingly popular with individuals. The principle is that you invest in a solar installation or, more rarely, a wind turbine. The green electricity produced can be used for home consumption to supply your home, or sold in whole or in part. A particularly profitable installation can thus cover all of your electricity consumption, complete a classic offer or provide you with additional income. In any case, your energy bill and your environmental impact are reduced.

Producing your solar energy:

This is the most common method for producing your own electricity. A complete solar kit includes photovoltaic panels to install on your roof, as well as a set of cables, an inverter, a protection box, a circuit breaker, a supervision system. If the method tempts you, have a profitability study done and trust the expertise of a professional for installation.

Producing wind energy: unknown but very real, wind energy production can also be done by private individuals. Everything depends on the configuration of the terrain, the geographical location, weather conditions. Again, a feasibility study and profitability is required.

What future for green electricity?

The specialists are unanimous: green electricity is the future. The global goal is to increase the share of renewable energies in order, more or less long term, to abandon fossil fuels, with serious consequences for the environment and the climate. A goal still distant, but on track to be reached. In our country, the share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption is expected to reach more than 30% by 2030 under the Energy Transition Act.
